Keynote at IEEE ICERAI 2026: how AI is transforming healthcare, space and security
Prof. Rami Qahwaji gave one of four keynote addresses at ICERAI 2026, hosted by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, which brought together 278 researchers from 24 countries.
Prof. Rami Qahwaji, Director of the Bradford-Renduchintala Centre for Space AI, delivered an invited keynote address at the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Electrical/Electronics, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Informatics (ICERAI 2026), hosted by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) in the United Arab Emirates.
His talk, "How AI is Transforming the Healthcare, Space and Security Sectors: Practical Case Studies & Personal View", covered AI for medical diagnosis and scans, the way space data is becoming big data, and new scanning technology that could improve passenger verification at borders.
The three-day conference was held online this year and attracted 278 researchers from 24 countries. Of the 123 papers submitted, 74 were accepted after peer review, including the Centre's new paper on predicting significant solar flares with bidirectional LSTMs.
